John Vincent and his new album “Eleven”

Nine Frank Sinatra songs, one great American standard (made famous by the late great Louie Armstrong), and an original I wrote called “The One”. And that makes “Eleven”. The last two are very different because they have a country flavor to them. But the reason I picked these eleven songs is because they all convey the same message: love. Not just from one person to another, but also of life itself and how we live it. To celebrate life and enjoy each moment we have.

Coach Ditka always tells me, “Johnny, you cannot control what happens to you in life, but you can control what you do about it”. Great words to live by. I hope these songs make you smile, laugh, love and live by bringing you back to special times in your life and also experiencing new ones along the way. The emotions in the words of these songs are powerful. Frank Sinatra did it best—he made you feel the song and he put his soul into every one of them.

Tom Dreesen, who was a close friend to Frank Sinatra and opened for him for many years, said, “Frank Sinatra treated each song like a script. He wanted to know what the writer felt when writing the song. He immersed himself in a lyric”. I hope I can bring just a little of that to you. The arrangements and musicians I performed with are unreal and I was honored to sing with them.
